Kingsburg Board recognizes district educators and support staff for 2025–26

The Kingsburg Board of Education on Jan. 20 honored teachers and support staff from across the district, recognizing classroom teachers, paraprofessionals and support staff for their contributions to students and school life.
District presenters named Thomas Anderson the District Educational Services Professional of the Year and Tara Kukulski the district educator of the year for 2025–26. Joe DeMarco, principal of Bulger Middle School, said of his teacher of the year: "I'm Joe DeMarco, the principal of Bulger Middle School," and praised Tara Kukulski's patience and her ability to make students "feel seen, valued, and supported every day." At Caruso, Sean Henry, vice principal at Caruso, introduced Thomas Anderson and noted Anderson's promotion to teach Spanish at Bulger and his impact as a paraprofessional supporting a student with significant needs. Henry said, "He has demonstrated exceptional patience, compassion, and professionalism." (Sean Henry: SEG 107–113)
Presenters described several building-level winners: Angela Melfi was recognized for long-term classroom leadership at Caruso; Rebecca Domas was honored at Folger for daily collaboration and student care; and Bill Padone was recognized as support staff member of the year for his visible presence and focus on student safety. The board also observed Board Appreciation Month and thanked members for supporting district academic and social-emotional initiatives.
The recognitions were presented at the start of the meeting and were accompanied by brief remarks about the honorees' roles in student activities, community engagement and school culture.
