The Florence Board of Mayor and Aldermen held an executive session on June 2, 2026 to discuss pending litigation, personnel matters and the possibility of land acquisition. The board voted unanimously to enter executive session at about 6:40 p.m.
While in executive session a motion by Alderman John Banks, seconded by Alderman Brent Sistrunk, authorized and directed Mayor Gunn to sign an offer letter to First Baptist Church concerning land acquisition. The motion carried with Aldermen John Banks, Brian Grantham, Kyle Martin and Brent Sistrunk voting Aye; Alderman Mason Herrin was absent. The board returned to regular session at 6:50 p.m. and adjourned the meeting.
