Summary
The board heard that standalone sidewalk funding is unavailable; consultant Andy Hanfland said sidewalk installation could be included if South Street water mains are replaced as part of a reconstruction project.

Trustees discussed options for installing sidewalks on South Street and whether outside funding was available.
Andy Hanfland said there is no “good program to do the sidewalks” on its own, but that replacing water mains on South Street would create a construction opportunity to add sidewalks. The board did not authorize separate sidewalk funding at the meeting; any frontage work would be tied to water-main replacement planning.
DPW Mark Blickensderfer will coordinate with the consultant on technical requirements if the board pursues a combined water-main and sidewalk project. No specific funding source or timeline was approved on June 15.
