The Village of Cerro Gordo Board heard an update June 15 on plans to repaint the municipal water tower and on state funding prospects.
Consultant Andy Hanfland (Farnsworth Group) told trustees the village “is at the top of the draft list with IEPA for $3.1 million dollars and $837,000 in forgiveness.” He said the village should receive a clearer notice around July 1 and that bids for the tower-painting contract will be taken, with work scheduled for next summer.
The update included a procedural timeline rather than a final award; Hanfland and DPW Mark Blickensderfer will coordinate bid specifications and timing. No final contract was approved at the meeting; the board retained oversight as the procurement process proceeds.
