District to review proposed easement allowing second American Water connection

District administrators told trustees that on Jan. 9 CMT Engineering consultants delivered a proposed easement that would allow American Water to connect a second service line to the City of Washington water mains. Dale Heidbreder explained the second connection is intended to provide a backup to the district’s current single point of connection near Uffring and help ensure Washington Estates retains reliable water service.
Heidbreder said the board will place the easement proposal on the February meeting agenda for further discussion. No final action or vote occurred at the Jan. 13 Committee of the Whole meeting; the administration flagged the item for formal consideration at the next business meeting.
