He said township crews continue mowing and trimming cemeteries, the township received the remaining contracted salt for the 2024–25 season, and the road crew spent several days weed-whipping bridges. Walter reported collecting $1,500 in overweight permit fees and said he borrowed equipment from Dunham Township to push gravel back to road shoulders.
Walter also said he hired a new full-time employee, Chat Oerkfritz, who is in training; the F-550 (unit #29) is at Hydraulic Services in Spring Grove for a hydraulic tank replacement due to rot; crews continue to cold patch roads; and he presented used-truck examples seeking board approval to begin purchasing replacements. Walter proposed hiring a contractor to install a hood and exhaust fan in the shop so the pressure washer can be used in winter and said he will gather quotes for that work.
