Clinton council adopts vision, mission, core values and Code of Conduct
Summary
The Town Council unanimously adopted a Vision Statement, Mission Statement, Core Values, a Code of Conduct and five strategic directives aimed at fiscal sustainability, economic development, quality of life, housing, and governance excellence.
After several workshops, the Town Council unanimously adopted a Vision Statement describing Clinton as "a thriving shoreline community where people of all ages and incomes can live, work, and prosper," a Mission Statement focusing on efficient municipal services and stewardship, and a set of Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Partnership, Honesty, Stewardship, Accountability).
The council also adopted a Code of Conduct that outlines expectations for member behavior, meeting procedure, confidentiality and conflict disclosure. Members agreed to revisit whether to include formal consequences for Code violations at a future meeting. The council additionally adopted five strategic directives: Fiscal sustainability; Economic Development; Quality of Life; Housing; and Organizational and Governance excellence.
