Highway commissioner reports ditch mowing, hires, salt moves and approves two equipment sales

Highway Commissioner Kyle Walter told trustees that the second round of ditch mowing is nearly finished and cemetery mowing continues on a weekly schedule. He said the department moved about 250 tons of salt to Lawrence Road storage and expects to receive the remaining 280 tons from the 2024'25 season by the end of the month.
Walter said he hired one part-time worker to assist with ditch mowing and a full-time employee who will start on July 28, 2025. He reported the township collected $1,520 in overweight permit fees this month related to a new bridge on North White Oaks Road. The board approved motions to sell Truck #7 and the township's 6-foot mowing deck (motions moved by Trustee Anne Nutley and seconded by Trustee Bill Schuld).
