APT expansion could add technical and plant jobs in Aitkin County

Tamara Lowney said the ARC and follow-on manufacturing growth will create new positions across lab, plant and office roles. "We've been conservative in saying that we'll probably add about 10 jobs in the next 3 years," Lowney said, and she added that hiring could accelerate once inoculation and production scale.
Lowney described the types of jobs the company expects to recruit: microbiologists and scientists for lab operations, plant operators for manufacturing lines, additional sales staff and accounting roles. She said APT is looking to local contractors and regional workforce programs when hiring and emphasized outreach to students and returning residents as a way to bring talent back to Aitkin County.
