When committee member Michael Essig asked about pistol-permit processing times, Mendoza said ‘‘the current backlog is ranging based on the information collected and the investigations, anywhere from six to nine months.’’ The report was entered into the record; no separate funding action was taken on the sheriff’s report itself.
