Planning hearing set Dec. 2 for proposed R-6 multifamily reclassification on Lonesome Road

Township Assessor John Killeen told trustees that a residential developer is preparing preliminary plans for property on Lonesome Road, near the entrance to Oak Grove Estates, and will seek reclassification to R-6 multifamily at a planning & zoning hearing scheduled for Dec. 2, 2025. "A hearing is scheduled for 12-2-25 with planning & zoning to request reclassification to R-6 multifamily by the developer," Killeen said during his report.
Killeen also reported business and industrial activity in the township: a baby-food manufacturer is moving forward with plans to build in the industrial park, and he listed current development counts, including nine homes under construction and two new auxiliary structures in the county. The assessor urged residents to contact the assessor's office with questions about assessed values and noted that Board of Review hearings for Chemung were completed in August 2025.
