District leaders report on assessments, Structured Literacy and early childhood engagement

At Prairieview, Principal Little said grade-level teams have reflected on collaborative practices using guidance from the article "When Nice Won't Suffice," and are reevaluating WIN time to improve data analysis, student grouping and interventions. Director Liles said data-driven goal-setting is now a focus during common planning and Building Leadership Team work.
Director Rhoads described the "Blended Preschool for All" program's family engagement activities — a Sept. 18 event at McCollum Park and Oct. 2 at the Darien-Woodridge Fire Department — aimed at strengthening family connections to preschool learning. The initiatives are described as optional, strength-based family engagements to support early learning.
