The Barry County Board of Commissioners reached consensus on Aug. 4 to invite Granger Construction and Clark Construction Company back for second interviews to serve as construction manager for a proposed new law enforcement facility. Administrator Eric Zuzga said he will follow up on references provided by both companies; the second interviews are scheduled for the Board’s Aug. 25, 2026 meeting.
Sheriff Leaf told the board he agreed with the general consensus; his top three choices were Granger Construction, Clark Construction Company and Miller‑Davis Company Construction Services. Administrator Zuzga reported that consultant Abonmarche recommended further exploration of the same three firms. Chair David Jackson said the meeting represented the first step in the process of building a new law enforcement facility and emphasized that “the project's cost, size, and scope have not yet been determined.”
