The Recreation Board confirmed at the June 4 meeting that Bob Benka will be celebrated as Citizen of the Year during the Village Board meeting on June 17, 2025. Administration staff has ordered a commemorative shirt and plaques, and the board asked Judy Prisby to secure $200 in gift cards for giveaways.
Chairman Tori Nassir moved to request $400 for the recognition expenses and Judy Prisby seconded; the motion passed on a roll call vote of five AYE and one ABSENT. The board noted Judy and Sue will assist with setup and cleanup at the June 17 meeting and administrative staff will handle ordering and logistics.
