The Village of Cherry Valley Recreation Board met on June 4, 2025, and approved two small funding requests while finalizing plans for summer community events. Chairman Tori Nassir called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM; roll call showed five members present and one absence. The board adopted the agenda and approved the May 7 minutes by voice vote.
During unfinished business the board recapped the May 17 Fun Run/Walk (60 participants) and discussed Street Dance logistics and giveaways. The board voted to request $400 to cover expenses for Citizen of the Year Bob Benka, to be recognized at the June 17 Village Board meeting, and separately approved a $400 request for National Night Out T-shirts for the August 5 event at Baumann Park. Both funding requests passed on roll call votes (five AYE, one ABSENT). Other items included a July 13 outing to a Rockford Rivets game (75 tickets paid by the Men’s Club) and plans to advertise a vacancy on the Recreation Board.
