Mayor Peter Hendricks opened a Council discussion to set budget priorities, saying he wanted the agenda item to kick off a longer conversation in the budget meetings. Council members identified roads and workforce housing as recurring top priorities.
Council Member Michelle Griffith listed four priorities: five-year capital needs from each department, road and path conditions, urban renewal area consideration, and workforce housing and land-acquisition planning. Council Member Jane Conard emphasized roads, housing and Mountain Rides funding, while Council President Keith Saks stressed maintenance of health, safety and welfare including roads, fire and police services and suggested considering sale of the Elkhorn Springs condominiums to help funding.
