City staff propose server replacement and move to cloud email to expand storage

Todd Mandeville of Ketchum Computers told the Council the City’s primary server warranty is nearly expired and recommended replacing the server hardware while moving email to a cloud‑based service to increase storage capacity.
Mandeville said "the server’s warranty is almost over, which is a good time for replacement." He explained the City currently operates a database server and a small-business server and that moving email to the cloud would provide substantially more storage. Mandeville also said leasing is an option and could be cheaper upfront but may separate repair and warranty costs; he agreed to examine leasing versus purchase and provide more precise estimates after a full survey.
