Council approves routine financial items, minutes and personnel scheduling; Jan–Feb meetings canceled

The council approved the treasurer report and check register (total $112,935.49), authorized rolling two CDs, approved minutes and granted staff Monday, Dec. 22 off; the council also canceled January and February meetings and set the next meeting for March 13, 2025.
Council approved several consent and routine items during the December 13 meeting. Tim McCarthy moved to approve the treasurer's report; the motion passed. Treasurer Tracey McCay reported a Pokagon Fund balance of $45,536 and noted two CDs due for rollover with Huntington at 3.5% and Everwise at 4.9%.
Clerk Anne Heywood presented a check register in the amount of $112,935.49, which the council approved. The council also approved minutes from the Nov. 8 meeting. Separately, on a motion by Mike Botelho (seconded by Mike Mumper), the council gave employees Monday, Dec. 22 off, citing the adjacent Christmas holiday schedule. Finally, the council announced there will be no meetings in January or February and scheduled the next regular meeting for March 13, 2025.
Council discussed bank-rate options for upcoming CD rollovers and suggested additional banks for comparison. No controversial budget amendments or new appropriations were made at the session.
