The Planning Commission and council moved forward on Master Plan preparations at the Sept. 6 meeting. Mike Botelho announced a Planning Commission workshop for Sept. 13 (9–11 a.m. EST) and the commission agreed to use the 2005 Master Plan format as a template while drafting a letter of intent and an RSP to seek consultants.
On a related motion, Botelho asked the council to pause Sport Courts construction until the Master Plan framework is completed. Tim McCarthy seconded the motion; roll-call vote was 5–0 in favor. Julie Bonello will serve as Planning Commission chair and report updates to the council. The commission said it will meet with potential consultants and clarify what it seeks from them as part of the update process.
