Council hears water and irrigation updates as crews prepare hydrant flushing and pump installation

Councilmember Mike Mumper reported Oct. 11 that the park irrigation system work with contractor Down to Earth is ongoing and that monthly water reports have been filed with EGLE, with daily testing continuing. "Mike will announce another water meeting sometime in November," the minutes say.
Mumper said crews will flush hydrants for the next couple of weeks and that Merritt is preparing a Project Plan for EPA review and the associated bidding process. A new pump has been procured and Rick Reitz said he hopes to install it in November when demand is lower so the system can run on a single pump during the swap.
The council did not record a vote on water capital funding at the meeting; Mumper indicated further public updates and a future water meeting will be scheduled.
