The board discussed acquiring a "no-wire" robotic lawn mower for testing on Village property and instructed staff to collect more information on costs and functionality. Clerk Rhonda Bezely said Ladd Farm Mart does not sell the no-wire models and that she consulted Dick Fiocchi and Ladd Farm Mart for input; estimated purchase cost for a test unit is under $2,000. The council placed the item on the Jan. 27, 2026 agenda and confirmed mowing bids are due Feb. 10, 2026, with the test plot remaining included in the RFP process.
No formal purchase was approved at the Dec. 9 meeting; the board asked staff to supply price and functionality details to inform a future decision and to keep the test plot in the upcoming mowing solicitations.
