Director Alston said he was open to exploring targeted extensions and recommended returning with a precise proposal after consulting the Recreation Commission. He suggested aligning schedules with the YMCA for comparison and pointed to the Emma Webb splash pad (open 9:30 AM–5:30 PM) as an underused cooling resource. Mayor Moore and other councilmembers emphasized safety; no formal change to pool hours was made and the item was referred for further departmental review and a Recreation Commission recommendation.
