Board moves to adopt Renaissance (FastBridge) for district assessments; Aimsweb discontinued

Following a committee SWOT analysis, the board approved staff plans to discontinue Aimsweb and transition to the Renaissance platform (FastBridge), retain NWEA for monitoring, and begin staff onboarding immediately ahead of fall 2026 implementation.
The Lake Bluff ESD 65 board heard a recommendation to change district assessment platforms during its April 28 meeting. Jackie Tivador summarized a committee SWOT analysis and said the consensus was to discontinue Aimsweb and move to the Renaissance platform, emphasizing its FastBridge assessment tool and additional features that align with upcoming state requirements.
"A consensus was reached to discontinue the overall use of Aimsweb and transition to the Renaissance platform, specifically emphasizing the FastBridge tool," Tivador reported. Staff will maintain the NWEA platform for monitoring following its recent buyout, and administrators noted the primary financial impact will be a one-time fee to support staff onboarding and training. District staff plan to begin training immediately to be ready for full implementation in fall 2026.
