Board to pilot scheduled town halls after survey shows parents want clearer, more consistent communication

Lake Bluff ESD 65 administrators responded to Family Communication Survey results by recommending changes to platform use and proposing community Town Halls to improve engagement.
Superintendent Dr. Lisa Leali said survey responses highlighted parents' desire for more consistent use of Seesaw at Lake Bluff Elementary School and praised PowerSchool's performance at LBMS. "PowerSchool continues to serve LBMS parents well, with a goal of furthering expedited grading and communication," she said. The administration proposed scheduling Town Halls as open meetings on the board calendar, using an RSVP system to prioritize questions in advance and recording sessions for distribution to families. The board discussed holding Town Halls in October and February (after parent-teacher conferences) and promoting them through the Chamber, the Village and On the Bluff.
The proposal will be scheduled for a vote at the next board meeting; no dates were finalized on March 16. The plan aims to balance proactive parent engagement with staff capacity and to use survey feedback to structure future sessions.
