Clerk Rhonda Bezely told trustees that Caselle Connect’s Cemetery Management Module turned out to cost $150 per month ($1,800 annually), which the board deemed too expensive. Administrative Assistant Samantha Sarosinski and Clerk Bezely demonstrated alternative software options and recommended Crypt Keeper; the board voted unanimously to purchase Option #2 at $125 per year.
Officials described the software’s capabilities — burial records storage, plot ownership tracking, cemetery maps, customizable fields (including military service and historical designations), and cloud backup — and noted contracts are year-to-year with exportable data if discontinued. Trustee Bernie Victor suggested entering a small sample of records to evaluate usability and time requirements. President Frank Cattani reported that Biccochi is willing to continue managing the cemetery for an additional five years so the Village can retain annuities without penalty; Attorney Pat Barry said the Village would not legally assume ownership until the annuities mature.
