The Ladd Village Board unanimously adopted Resolution #1204 commemorating America’s 250th anniversary at its Jan. 27, 2026 regular meeting.
Attorney Pat Barry and Clerk Rhonda Bezely told trustees that the resolution does not commit Village funds. Administrative Assistant Samantha Sarosinski proposed reviving the Ladd Daze festival and suggested either July 10–11 or July 17–18; the July 17–18 weekend would coincide with the Big Truck Show and could increase attendance. Board members discussed the cost of fireworks and agreed that fundraising would be needed if fireworks are pursued. Trustee Brad Nicholson moved and Trustee Dan Nelson seconded adoption of the resolution; the motion carried unanimously.
Sarosinski said planning would require additional staff hours and Trustee Molly Thrasher emphasized the importance of forming a planning committee promptly. The board asked staff to return with a committee structure and basic budget estimates before committing funds.
