County rep highlights veteran support, sheriff staffing gaps and housing summit

Otsego County Representative Meg Kennedy told the board about "Operation Green Light to support veterans by displaying a green light on their porches for the month of November," and pointed members to veterans-transition resources on the Otsego County Veterans' Agency website.
Kennedy said three union contracts for the Deputy Sheriff are up to date but that there remain roughly "75-100 vacant positions." She also said the county is working on a budget to come under the cap and that Bassett Health is transferring patients to other facilities to free up emergency-department capacity. Kennedy said she will attend the Otsego County Housing Summit at the Foothills PAC and will bring that discussion back to the board.
