Milford board hires Brockport Research Institute for $1,800 to seek grants for proposed highway barn

Council Member Kristen Velasco presented a proposal from Brockport Research Institute (BRI) offering grant prospecting and prospecting assistance for a proposed new Highway Department barn. Velasco said BRI's fee would be a flat rate of $1,800, payable upon completion of the work.
Highway Superintendent Billy Sutphin was instructed to provide project estimates to BRI. Acting Deputy Supervisor Harold Couse seconded Velasco's motion to hire Brockport Research Institute; the board voted—all ayes—and the motion passed.
The board did not appropriate construction funds at the April 16 meeting; the action authorizes procuring prospecting services to identify potential grant opportunities and does not guarantee grant awards or immediate project funding.
