College says new student housing and dual enrollment build campus life at St. John's River State College

St. John's River State College representatives told The Pulse podcast that campus housing opened two years ago, increased student residency this fall and that dual enrollment brings Putnam County high-school students into Flow Arts programs.
Michelle Sjogren said student housing opened two years earlier and that the college recently moved a second cohort of students into the residence. "We opened our housing facility 2 years ago... we moved our 2nd student group of students in this fall," she said, noting Flow Arts students and some athletes live on campus.
Sjogren and JoLynn Carter also highlighted dual-enrollment pathways that allow high-school students from Putnam County to take Flow Arts classes, which college leaders say builds students' confidence and provides a bridge to further study or workforce entry. Officials framed housing and dual enrollment as ways to foster a more traditional college atmosphere and closer ties between the college and local school district.
