St. John's River State College's Flow Arts to mark 50th anniversary with Oct. 29 ribbon cutting

JoLynn Carter, foundation director at St. John's River State College, said, "we're gonna have a ribbon cutting for Flow Arts on October 29."
Michelle Sjogren, the college's AVP of Institutional Advancement, said the renovated facility will have a soft launch when "our students will begin classes there, on the 1st day of classes. I think that is August 24." She described the reopening as a transition from construction to student activity, with employees moving in while contractors finish final touches. The pair emphasized that the new space includes a larger, enclosed entrance and a new auditorium intended to support both college performances and community events.
The 50th-anniversary programming will include a run of shows and community events leading into the October ribbon cutting. Officials said they expect the renovated auditorium and galleries to increase public access to performances and to support students preparing for professional careers in performing and visual arts.
