Minerva approves summer youth hires, lifeguards and $40 subsidy for t-ball participants

The Minerva Town Board on May 22 approved hiring for the Minerva Youth Program and beach staff, including returning counselors at $18.34 per hour and lifeguards at $21.50 per hour. The resolution (Motion #144) requires First Aid, CPR/AED and lifeguard certification for those positions; Summer Lunch Program cooks are exempt from those certification requirements.
Separately, Motion #145 authorized payment of $40 per child for 30 Minerva children participating with the Johnsburg youth t-ball, baseball and softball program, to be paid from account 73104.01. Both motions were approved by roll call, 5-0, and reflect the board’s seasonal staffing and youth-support decisions.
