Putnam County School District on Monday announced it was selected as the medium‑district winner of the Florida Association of Management Information Systems’ (FAMIS) first Excellence in Data Compliance and Accuracy award. Assistant Superintendent Miss France told the board the recognition reflects ‘‘the quiet, tireless, and vital work happening behind the scenes’’ in the district’s data operations.
Renee Lamoreaux, director of assessment and accountability, described accepting the award in a ballroom ceremony and named multiple data clerks and HR staff who contributed to the district’s submission. ‘‘This award was not given by chance,’’ Lamoreaux said, adding it honors the district’s ‘‘rigorous data commitment’’ and FLEID identification work to ensure accuracy for pre‑K through grade‑12 records.
Board members framed the recognition as validation of staff work and a safeguard for funding. The presentation emphasized that accurate student and staff data underpin high‑stakes reporting to the Florida Department of Education and can affect funding distributions. The district said it will continue internal data governance training and publicly post relevant performance indicators on state and district dashboards.
The award was presented during the board’s regular meeting; no formal action beyond recognition was required.
