Mayor William F. Brazill reviewed the village's 2026–27 tentative budget during the public hearing and invited department heads to meet with him on questions before the board considers final adoption at the April 20 meeting. On sewer finances Mayor Brazill listed sewer rent ($375.50/year equating to $582,120) and the ESM Sewer Agreement ($173,520). He said anticipated sewer revenue is $3,049,140 with anticipated sewer expenditures of $3,115,380, leaving a fund balance needed to balance sewer of $66,240.
On the general side Mayor Brazill cited a taxable value of $314,442,580, a proposed tax levy of $2,814,261 and a tax cap of $2,472,860 (over cap identified as approximately $387,749). Total anticipated village revenue was listed at $6,151,968 with expenditures of $6,607,336 and an appropriated fund balance of $455,368. He announced the board will consider adoption of the 2026–27 budget at the next village board meeting on April 20.
"If any department head or liaison wishes to meet and discuss the tentative budget please contact me as soon as possible," Mayor Brazill told the board, inviting follow-up meetings before formal adoption.
