Centertown trustees approve small projects from $4,182.17 Cole County ARPA balance

The board reviewed options for spending the remaining $4,182.17 from a Cole County ARPA grant and approved a package of small projects Oct. 28. The clerk itemized possible projects and estimates, including culvert repair ($1,400), a park bench for Main and Broadway ($550), trail cameras ($500), gate repair at the ballfield ($650), and a flag/flagpole/banner package ($600).
Resident Jim Baker presented additional flag-related proposals (new flagpole, embroidered flag, vinyl banners) and offered to coordinate with AmerenUE for light-pole flags. Chairman Pro Tem Heather Hunger moved to proceed with culvert repair, park bench, flag display, gate repair and the purchase of trail cameras and to allow Mr. Baker to continue coordination with AmerenUE; Trustee Paula Hinshaw seconded and the motion passed on a voice vote.
