Minoa mayor’s slate of annual appointments accepted; trustees receive liaison duties

Mayor William F. Brazill opened the Village of Minoa annual organizational meeting and read a slate of appointments for village officers and department leads. The list included Deputy Mayor John H. Champagne, Clerk-Treasurer Lisa L. DeVona, Deputy Clerks-Treasurer Ruth Ptak and Donna Miller, Records Access Officer Donna Miller, Property Control Manager Lisa DeVona and Superintendent of Public Works Thomas Petterelli; several positions remain listed as vacant, including Safety Officer/Coordinator and Village Historian.

Trustees voted unanimously to accept the appointments as read. The mayor also announced liaison assignments: Trustee John M. Abbott will oversee public works, the Golden Age/Library and the Town of Manlius Historical Society; Trustee John H. Champagne will handle code enforcement and NIMS compliance; Trustee Eric S. Christensen will serve as liaison for the wastewater treatment plant, the Minoa Historical Association and village celebrations. The board approved the liaison designations by motion.

Mayor Brazill noted routine administrative items tied to the appointments, including surety bond requirements and authorized signatories for village accounts. "The Mayor and Treasurer will sign all checks. In the absence of one, either remaining two will sign," the board record states. The appointments and administrative procedures will guide village operations through the coming municipal year.
