At the Aug. 18 regular meeting, the Minidoka County Joint School District Board approved a package of operational items: Bus, Emergency and Safety Areas were approved by motion; the State Special Education and Transportation manuals were adopted; and sex education classes were approved at Mt. Harrison, East, West and Minidoka Jr. High.
The board also adjusted activity stipends, moving the middle‑school Ski Advisor stipend to Tier 3A and the high‑school stipend to Tier 4B. Trustee Claridge and Vice Chair Andersen discussed stipend comparisons and the funding source for some stipends; the packet notes some stipends are paid from student‑raised funds.
On personnel, the board approved an emergency hire for PE/Health at East Minico (motion recorded as carried). The minutes and personnel packet include more hires, transfers and guest‑teacher postings in the personnel section of the board packet.
