The Committee approved a motion to purchase 60 Acorn-style street light globes from Lighting Plastics Solutions (Clearwater, Florida) for $5,394.00 from the Public Works maintenance line (5135). Trustee Mike Neville moved the purchase and Trustee Hollembeak seconded; the roll call vote was 7-0.
Interim Public Works Director Andy Wesseln reported crews completed 657 J.U.L.I.E. utility locate requests from Jan. 1 through June 5, 2025 (21 were emergency locates). He also described ongoing tasks: locating watermain and services in Valley View South for fiber installation, repairing a broken outfield light at the ballfield, first-round ditch mowing, and ditch grading. Administrator Jim Claeyssen added that Helm was installing fiber cable to Well 7 and Rock Roads intends to complete road work by June 30, 2025, including Genoa Street.
The board also approved $400 for National Night Out T-shirts from ASC Company (Rockford, Illinois) to support the event.
