Legislature accepts criminal justice and public defender grants; other aid for traffic operations approved

The Legislature accepted a 2024–2025 Aid to Crime Laboratories grant from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the Office of the Medical Examiner and multiple Aid to Defense grants from NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services for the Offices of the Public Defender, Conflict Defender, and Assigned Counsel Program. Separately, the Legislature authorized acceptance of federal and state aid for operation and maintenance of the James R. Pond Regional Traffic Operations Center.
