Curriculum report: new cell-phone boxes, character-education push and assemblies planned

Eric McCauliffe, reporting for Curriculum and Instruction, told the board the district is implementing the New York State cell-phone policy and has procured new cell-phone storage boxes for student use. He said the district will integrate character traits into both elementary and high school programming and is planning assemblies on the first day of school.
Board member Nichole Griffen asked how parents will be contacted if bussing problems arise under the new phone rules. Superintendent Candice Husson said the main office, ParentSquare and Facebook will be used to reach parents when needed.
