Mr. Haywood, the district facilities presenter, updated the board on summer construction across Glynn County Schools, saying projects at Sterling, Glendale and Goodyear elementaries are moving forward on schedule. He reported that the Sterling Elementary roof replacement is 65% complete and that "all work, again, will moving forward will be done in the evenings and on the weekends so that we don't disrupt the school day." The roof job is scheduled for completion on September 11.
Haywood described visible progress at Glendale—brickwork on classroom wings, framing and drywall in place—and several improvements at Goodyear, including a new bronze roof, updated gym wall panels and a larger cafeteria and kitchen with new serving lines to speed student flow. He said much of the remaining work is punch-list items that will be completed outside school hours. Board members praised staff and teachers for managing tight timelines and completing classroom setups before the first day. The district encouraged board members to schedule site tours to see the renovations in person.
