The Lindop School District 92 Board of Education approved its FY2025–26 final budget on Sept. 16, 2025, after a public hearing and a presentation by Chief School Business Official Cortnee Gutierrez and consultant Dr. Robert Grossi. The motion to adopt the budget, moved by Ms. Johnson and seconded by President Patterson, passed with Yes votes from Patterson, Dawson, Griffin, Johnson and Myrick; Mr. Buchanan and Mr. Hannah were absent.
Gutierrez and Grossi told the board the district expects revenue to decline because of timing of collections and the State pausing the Property Tax Relief Grant for FY2026, along with expiration or withholding of other state and federal grants. Gutierrez projected that "Fund Balances at the end of the Fiscal Year [are] expected to be of over $15,000,000," and Dr. Grossi cautioned the board to maintain balanced budgets as revenue decreases may continue. The presentation estimated payroll expenses would increase by about 5.4% driven by contractual increases and staffing changes. The board took the vote to approve the final budget with no discussion recorded during the motion.
