Monroe County legislators on Nov. 12 approved several contract authorizations and bond resolutions tied to airport and county capital projects. The Legislature authorized a contract with CHA Consulting, Inc. for design services for an Airport Pavement Management Study and a contract with Passero, Associates for parking facility upgrades at the Frederick Douglass–Greater Rochester International Airport, as reflected in Res. 275 and Res. 276. Committees reported favorable committee votes before floor action.
The Legislature also amended the Capital Improvement Program to expand the scope from 'Viaduct Rehabilitation' to 'Viaduct and Bridge Rehabilitation' and authorized a bond issuance of $6,500,000 to finance the project, recorded as a bond resolution. In a related action the Legislature authorized a $3,000,000 bond resolution to acquire or replace airport rescue firefighting safety vehicles. Committee records and the Legislature's minutes list the related resolutions and show consistent recorded votes (typically 28-0) for these items.
The actions provide funding and design authority intended to support runway and parking improvements and to replace critical emergency response equipment at the airport. Departments and contracting firms named in the resolutions (CHA Consulting, Passero Associates, C&S Engineers) are authorized to proceed under the terms recorded in the minutes.
