The Clarkston Town Council voted to adopt Resolution 2609 on Aug. 5, updating the town’s master fee schedule after City Inspect (Hyde Park) increased plan-review fees and a sanitation contract tied service rates to the consumer price index.
Mayor Thompson said the Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI rose 4.9% and the town’s waste-management agreement requires annual rate adjustments tied to that index. Under the resolution the town will change the city inspection plan-review fees (including a proposed 15% dwelling fee of total building-permit fees) and set updated sanitation collection fees (a 96-gallon service at $27.32 and a 64-gallon service at $26.17). Council members expressed concern about the size of the fee change and asked staff to seek replacement inspectors and examine contract terms; the council approved the resolution by roll call with members voting to adopt while asking staff to explore options.
