The Jacksonville School District #117 board on July 16 heard a presentation on Vision 117 Phase IV that outlined options for Murrayville/Woodson Elementary and financing approaches for construction.
After the presentation the board authorized Graham & Hyde to solicit bids for a general contractor for the Murrayville/Woodson construction project. The motion to seek bids passed unanimously. Superintendent Steve Ptacek presented revenue‑tracker context but the board did not select a financing package at this meeting; procurement for a contractor is the immediate next step.
Board members were told procurement and budgeting steps will continue with formal bid openings and subsequent board action to award a contract. The board has a special budget presentation scheduled for Aug. 13 that will provide additional fiscal context before any contract award.
