Members of the land surveyor committee approved updates to sample plat requirements and accompanying FAQs intended to reduce ambiguity in GNSS metadata reporting on plats.
The committee member who drafted the sample materials told the panel that the "biggest change would be the certification wording and certification has changed," and provided multiple sample GNSS note drafts to reflect different base‑station workflows (VRS, core station, OPUS). Members said standardized sample notes would reduce inconsistent submissions and make staff review more efficient.
The committee voted to adopt the revised sample plat, update the FAQs and forward those changes for inclusion in the full board packet; staff will memorialize the change and publish the updated sample notes and instructions. The committee also discussed process controls for applicant FAQs and how to place examples where applicants will find them during submission.
