Sheriff Clark's representatives told the board they had prepared an application for a law-enforcement mental-health and wellness grant proposed at $250,000 with no local match required. "This grant comes, it's a Lim Wong grant, law enforcement mental health and wellness grant. It's proposed at $250,000 with no match required," the presenter said. The proposal targets nutritional and financial wellness supports, staff access to an anonymous wellness app, and expanded peer-team training with a long-term goal of accreditation.
Investigator Sarah Meeks and others described survey results from deputies and said the project would include options for families and retirees. Board members expressed support and directed staff to record the board's level of support for the application. A voice vote authorized staff to proceed with the application process.
