Lockport SD 91 board approves levy estimates, grant application and $36,783 insurance contract

The Lockport School District 91 Board of Education met Nov. 11, 2025, in the Kelvin Grove LRC and approved several financial and administrative items by roll call votes.
Board members approved the estimated amounts necessary for the 2025 levy, authorized the district to pursue costs associated with an FY26 ISBE School Maintenance Grant to update security at both district schools if the state approves the award, and approved a workers’ compensation contract with the Illinois Public Risk Fund (IPRF) for $36,783. Motions to approve each item were made by board members and carried unanimously by roll call. The consent agenda — including minutes, financial reports, bills, and routine reports — was also approved in a single motion.
The meeting packet included staff reports on the district’s 2025 School Report Card and the upcoming Truth in Taxation hearing; the board was scheduled to certify its tax levy in December. The board met in closed session to discuss personnel matters under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) and adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
