Village schedules Nov. 24 public hearing on potential IEPA-funded water-main upgrades

Village Engineer Brian Nott told the board that potential water-main upgrades are being considered in a multi-year, phased approach and that the IEPA requires a public hearing on the proposal. Nott listed candidate work including Oak Street, a portion of Chestnut, upsizing sections of Center, Sherman, Grant and Route 73 and adding additional valves for the water tower.
Per the schedule Nott outlined, Bridgette Stocks has submitted required newspaper notices and the public hearing is set for 5:50 p.m. on Nov. 24; a special board meeting will follow at 5:55 p.m. that evening to allow the board to act on a loan application. Nott said the village will decide how much of the project to include in the IEPA application and that funding amounts will be announced in March.
