Third-graders present book as district spotlights math and reading programs

Lindop highlighted classroom work at the start of its Dec. 16 meeting, with staff introducing the Metro Chicago Math Initiative (MCMI) and the Wilson Reading System as tools teachers are using districtwide to support math and reading instruction.
"Ms. Barret, Ms. Evans and Mr. Tam and their 3'd Grade authors presented their joumey as they published their book, 'Adventures in Mystery: Stories by young Detectives,'" the minutes state. Teachers and third-grade student authors appeared during the "Spotlight on Success" item to share student work and the district's literacy efforts.
Superintendent Dr. Betz later noted staff team-building and recruitment and retention efforts and mentioned the district hopes to bring motivational speaker Blake Leeper to Lindop. The presentation underscored the district's emphasis on classroom literacy and math supports in its curriculum.
