Lindop Board pauses $91,757 in payables after county warns of delayed tax receipts

Chief School Business Official Cortnee Gutierrez told the board that the Cook County Treasurer notified her the district may not receive property-tax receipts until February 2026, which could affect the timing of cash available for payments.
"Ms' Gutierrez shared an email from the Cook county Treasurer notifying her that Lindop may not receive property tax receipts until February 2026," the minutes state. Gutierrez said Lindop's fund balances provide about a five-month cushion but recommended holding non-essential bills for roughly 45 days and following guidance from county and township treasurers.
Following that report, the board approved a motion to pause remittance of accounts payable in the amount of $91,757.14 until the Jan. 20, 2026 board meeting. The motion passed with yes votes from all present members; Mr. Buchanan was recorded as absent. Board leaders said staff will report updates at the next regular meeting.
